Data: I found this snail last night outside of our home in Houston, TX. It is only the 2nd time I've seen snails at our house in 11 years & this one is much larger than the others we have found. His shell is a little larger than a penny. It has a yellowish or whitish rim near the head opening.

Since I'm new to snails, I've been on line and at the library trying to identify it, but haven't had any luck. We'd like to keep it as a pet.
