Dear friends,

Since May 1, 2001, the 'Foundation Biologia Maritima' has transferred her activities to the Dutch Malacological Society (N.M.V.).

From now on the 'World Directory of malacologists and Conchologists' or 'SHELLER'S DIRECTORY' is maintained at the website of the NMV, which will be named 'Spirula'. Other items from the Vita Marina website can be found also at the new Spirula website. These include the 'New species pages', and the 'Art pages'. The Snailpack service will also be maintained.

These pages will be maintained by the people who did so before at the Vita Marina - Spirula website.

Besides this important development, other new features at the new Spirula website are:
A European agenda,
Several webdatabases (Java application):
- The contents of our journal Basteria
- Introduced taxa in Basteria
- Our library

The old Vita Marina - Spirula website can still be visited for a period of one year. The pages will, however, not anymore be updated. During this period visitors are advised to change their bookmarks and favorites.
This is what we also advise you to do.
