Oreo here has been offered Oatmeal, Tomatoe, Banana and Apple Sauce. He ignored all but the Oatmeal.

Oreo must have been practicing for Valentines Day when he chewed out a perfect heart on his lettuce

Oreo sleeps a lot of the time on his Aloe Vera Plant. He does not appear to eat this plant at all
 

New growth is quite evident on Oreo's shell
 
February 26, 2005: Oreo continues to sleep for 14 to 18 days at a time. He then stays in a semi active stage for a few hours to about 3 days when he actively feeds (mostly lettuce and oatmeal) and sucks up water beads from his pen. Oreo prefers to drink these small moisture droplets on his pen rather than from a water supply. I think he may be obtaining some algae from this source as well.
